The ‘You Raise Me Up charity’ was founded by the late Jane Brooks and her husband Fraser in June 2011.
The charity’s sole purpose is to raise funds to support families that have suffered the loss of a young person aged 16-25 years. They are based in East Sussex and support families from East & West Sussex and Kent.
The aim of the charity is to be able to provide compassion, support and simply to be able to say “we totally understand” rather than “we cannot imagine what you are going through”.
They have trained, experienced counsellors available including child and adolescent counsellors to help families through dark times. They also run monthly support groups, where families going through similar emotions can meet up to come together and not feel so alone.
The charity is based just a few miles from the site of Jack's tragic accident, and the Phillips family are often in the area to visit his memorial plaque.
The JP8 Charitable Trust were delighted to be able to make a donation of £1,200.00 to help them carry on their amazing work
