Despite the wind and cold, around 60 spectators watched a full throttle game for the Jack Phillips Cup 2022. The game between United Amaturs FC (in green) and Haver Town FC (in yellow) was the latest in a series of charity games in memory of Jack Phillips, who lost his life in a tragic accident in 2019.
The afternoon started with a minutes applause observed by both teams and the spectators in memory of Jack .
The game went end to end for pretty much the whole 90 minutes, and there were some pretty tired (and cold) players after the game. Top marks and huge thanks go to referee David Sargent for keeping the game flowing, which was played with great spirit by both teams.
In the end United Amateurs took home the JP8 trophy, winning 2-1.
